Roger Vicker - Head Of Commercial

Current role

Roger was appointed Head of Commercial in June 2009.  He is responsible for exploiting and protecting the commercial interests of Ascent; leading a high performing commercial team, working with others, to help Ascent deliver its commitments to the UKMFTS programme.  

Previous roles 

Roger had a long career with MoD, often in high profile commercial and project management roles - mainly in the maritime sector.

He also held some very challenging senior policy posts.  One of his proudest moments was to receive a personal commendation from a Defence Minister in recognition of his contribution to the 2005 Defence Industrial Strategy.

In his last MoD job, Roger worked under the Defence Commercial Director in support of far reaching transformation programmes to drive improvements into MoD’s contracting approaches and better ways of working between MoD and Industry.

Roger is a full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.  His leisure interests include reading, world music, walking, cycling and Bath Rugby Football Club.
