David Marshall - Finance Director

Current role

David was appointed Finance Director to Ascent Flight Training in January 2008.

Previous roles

Director, Grant Thornton Project Finance with responsibility for their work in the defence sector and private sector bid support in PFI/PPP.

KPMG Corporate Finance.  Working in the national Financing Group, David led the Bristol PPP/PFI team on a variety of projects in the defence, construction and IT sectors for the public and private sector including FSTA, HSTF, PCRS, FPMS.

NatWest Bank.  On secondment from KPMG, David worked at the regional Bristol HQ advising on the sanctioning of high value lending and working with the head of risk on turnaround situations.

KPMG Corporate Finance.  David worked in the South West area on a variety of private equity and finance raisings, acquisitions, business sales, management buy-outs/buy-ins and business valuations.

KPMG Peat Marwick McLintock.  David qualified with the ICAEW working in the audit practice.

Arthur Andersen & Co, audit practice.

David graduated with first class honours in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and an Associate Member of the Corporate Treasurers association.

David is married, a keen skier and enjoys motorsport and boating
