Core Responsibilities
• Manage the commercial issues on multiple complex extant contracts
• Take business decisions involving legal, financial and programme issues
• Provide commercial support to acquisition team managers in the development of future complex contracts
• Review or propose Terms and Conditions of contract, including flowdown of prime contract commercial requirements, in order to minimise Ascent’s risk,
• Develop and maintain Ascent’s contractual relationships with sub-contractors
• Understand and apply complex innovative commercial/contract models
• Prepare complex contract amendments and liaise with specialist advisers
• Liaise with MoD commercial staff on matters affecting the commercial interests of Ascent
• Support Ascent’s acquisition teams through provision of commercial advice
• Lead and organise complex source selections and strategy
• Lead negotiations on non-standard complex agreements
Knowledge and Experience
• Ideally 7 years commercial experience in the support services industry
• Thorough knowledge of different types of commercial/contract models, and their use
• Degree, Part or fully qualified in CIPS or equivalent professional qualification
• Good understanding of PFI & MOD contract terms and conditions for Aerospace business and experience of EC Public Procurement Regulations desirable.
• Good understanding of export control and ITAR regulations
