Ascent Flight Training
Ascent is a 50/50 joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Babcock, having won a 25-year contract to provide the United Kingdom Military Flying Training System for the MoD.
It is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) approach with Ascent, The Directorate of Flying Training for No 22 (Training) Group and the UKMFTS IPT (Integrated Project Team) from the MoD.
Ascent is a company that has a fundamental understanding of the requirements of UKMFTS. Ascent is focused on success and through its shareholders, Lockheed Martin and Babcock, offers extensive experience of meeting the demands of customers and working with them to deliver the output they require. More particularly, Ascent understands the issues that are important to the military, from the preservation of military ethos to the provision of a first class training environment. The UKMFTS Partnership is working to achieve a solution that delivers the world’s finest Military Flying Training System.
Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support (STS) is a leader in the development of military training and simulation solutions, producing air, ground and maritime training systems.
The company is engaged across the simulation continuum of live, virtual and constructive training as well as integrated logistics and test systems for the U.S Department of Defense and for international and commercial customers. Major training and simulation programs include:
F-35 Lightning ll aircrew and maintenance training, C-130 Aircrew Training Systems; Aircrew Training and Rehearsal Support for Air Force Special Operations Forces and Combat Search and Rescue aircrews.
Warfighter Simulation wargaming system, National Training Center - Objective Instrumentation System, United Kingdom (U.K) Combined Arms Tactical Trainer, Close and Combat Convoy Simulator. Logistics and test equipment programs include F-35 Autonomic Logistics Information System and the U.K. Ministry of Defence Joint Asset Management and Engineering System.
